SOCAN is the Canadian organization for the collective management of copyrights in charge of public performance and making-available rights for the telecommunication of musical works. It grants public performance licences pursuant to the tariffs approved by the Copyright Board of Canada for all music performed in Canada regardless of whether they are Canadian or foreign.
If you plan on recording the concert to communicate it over the web or market it on CD or DVD, etc., you must first clear the rights for those specific uses. Please refer to the sections covering those uses.
