In order to use music in a commercial or business environment, you are obligated to obtain licences for the use of the music and its sound recordings. SOCAN, Re:Sound and SOPROQ are the Canadian collective rights management societies in charge of licensing the use of that music and its sound recordings in the name of the rights holders. The tariffs are set by the Copyright Board of Canada.
